Problem Note 40231: "ERROR: Libname _PMTA01_ is not assigned" occurs when running the METALIB procedure

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If you attempt to update table metadata for a library that is defined in the SAS® Metadata Repository as a pre–assigned library, you receive this error message:

ERROR: Libname _PMTA01_ is not assigned.

This error occurs when you choose to Update Metadata for a table in either SAS® Management Console or SAS® Data Integration Studio or if you run PROC METALIB explicitly.

To circumvent the problem, you must either deselect Library is pre–assigned in the library's Advanced Options window, or manually assign the library using the _PMTA01_ libref in the SAS® session where PROC METALIB executes. For example, if your pre–assigned library's libref is test, submit the following LIBNAME statement in SAS just prior to submitting the PROC METALIB step:

libname _PMTA01_ (test);
